be glad that you're waking up each day and still have all your belongings and that he didn't fall on the toilet last night when he was drunk and tore it off the wall (...one of them wall-mounted toilets, you know...) Be grateful that you HAVE someone to spend your time with - even if it's someone yo...

I bet you ain't seen the german version yet, right? Because THAT'S a pain! It's not just that the whole movie loses every flair by losing the british accent, but they also have fucked up almost all jokes. Anyway, I personally considered it quite entertaining (the english version only), but I must ad...

I2C bus based controlling
What disturbs me about the PLD+flipflop solution is, that it would need let's say 8 wires for the communication bus, which would be 6 wires data and 2 wires voltage. 2^6=64 different devices individually addressable which I'd consider a reasonable number. Of course I'd prefer less wires for the bus ...

controlling external appliances
For controlling external gadgetry, I've built a prototype which is able to switch 3 relays by changing the bit-state of the LPT port's data-pins. Of course, this would only allow a max. of 8 devices to be switched on/off, so I've figured out a more sophisticated way of using those 8 bits with a mini...

Computer-World interaction
I've been thinking about a computer-world interaction scenario for over a year now and I'm planning to enable our main server in "Das Werkstatt" to interact with the real world - in our case, a whole room. I'm interested in other people's feedback and ideas regarding the hardware / softwar...

I guess that since speed-limits have been invented, people kept ignoring them or seeing them as a "suggestion". I think it's true, that in an ideal world, people should be able to estimate a reasonable speed-limit for themselves considering all necessary factors, BUT in the real world, mos...

keeping myself short
This discussion sounds REALLY interesting to me, since I've spent quite some time thinking about this inequality-issue. I'd like to get the focus of this topic slightly away from "science VS art" and more into the direction of "analyzing the current situation as a whole & finding ...

guess what? Gil's bitching about toothaches for like almost a year now! Although everyone he's bitching at keeps telling him "...what about visiting a dentist?" -or- "...go see a dentist!" He quickly stops moaning and turns around, actually ignoring this simple hint. Guess what? ...
