Jumping out of an airplane is not a basic instinct. Neither is breathing underwater. But put the two together and you're traveling through space!

How to use the F-word

Post by ^rooker »

I bought a T-shirt about 20 years ago, and now it's time to say goodbye (because it's literally falling apart).

In order to keep its spirit alive (and avoid these words getting lost), here's a copy of the words printed on it.
It was titled "how to use the f-word":
1. Dismay - Oh! Fuck it.
2. Aggression - Fuck you!
3. Passive - Fuck me.
4. Command - Go fuck yourself!
5. Incompetence - He's a fuck-up.
6. Laziness - He's a fuck-off.
7. Ignorance - He's a fucking jerk.
8. Trouble - I guess I'm fucked now.
9. Confusion - What the fuck?
10. Despair - Fucked again...
11. Philosophical - Who gives a fuck?
12. Denial - You ain't fucking me.
13. Rebellion - Fuck the world!
14. Annoyance - Don't fuck with me.
15. Encouragement - Keep on fucking.
16. Etiquette - Pass the fucking salt.
17. Fraud - I got fucked by my insurance agent.
18. Difficulty - I can't understand this fucking thing.
19. Identification - Who the fuck are you?
20. Ugliness - You're a dumb looking fuck.
21. Agreement - You're fucking-ay right.
22. Benevolence - Don't do me any fucking favors!
23. Wisdom - Fuck that shit!
24. Insight - You're out of your fucking mind.

If you could see yourself just for a day, you'd see how everyone else sees you. And my god, you are fucking beautiful.

This always comes to my mind when rolling a cigarette, but took to much tobacco:
You actually need less of it than you think.
or:

Actually, saying this to someone out of context can lead to very interesting associations.

New design brand label: "Sicherheitshalber"

Post by ^rooker »

IDEA:
First: Only one word: "sicherheitshalber." printed on T-shirts, pullovers, etc: Different colors, different styles, different fonts - but the same word.
The "." (dot) at the end is important ;)
In today's times, this word unfortunately seems to be used (and accepted?) a "proper" answer to literally any "why x?" question.

Second: Once that term+idea is familiar, it may be fun to add more text. May produce interesting associations. From highly political to humoristic - even for both ends of extreme opinions on topics.
Examples:
  • "Konsum über Verfassungsrechte stellen? Sicherheitshalber."
  • "Gemüse essen? Sicherheitshalber."
  • "Schokolade? Sicherheitshalber."
  • "Polizeistaat? Sicherheitshalber."
Here's an example how it works for opposite ends:
  • "Datenschutz? Sicherheitshalber."
  • "Handyüberwachung? Sicherheitshalber."
Haven't found an English translation yet that matches my feeling and intention of the German word "sicherheitshalber", but here are some options:
  • as a precaution
  • for good measure
  • just in case
  • preventively
  • for security reasons (added 2020-09-22)
Don't they each feel very different from "for security reasons"?
