When using KDE application in GNOME, the problem is, that some apps need the language to be set within the KDE system control center. Of course, this is unavailable under Gnome, and I wouldn't want to install the whole KDE just in order to change the language for a few apps.
Thanks to the ubuntu wiki, there's an article, about how to change the language settings within different environment:
http://wiki.ubuntuusers.de/spracheinstellungen
For KDE apps under gnome, for instance, it is necessary to install the package "systemsettings":
Code: Select all
sudo apt-get install systemsettings
Afterwards, just execute the command:
This should open the KDE control center. There, change the language to fit your needs, and afterwards, all KDE apps (e.g. K3B, Amarok, etc...) will then use the right language (instead of English, by default).
