Right now I'm setting up a brand new computer with a "Elitegroup GeForce 7050M-M" mainboard with everything on it (LAN, audio, Gfx, etc...)

I'm encountering some problems with the nvidia-glx-new driver, but I'll post my results here.

1) audio distorted after loading proprietary (nvidia-glx-new) driver:
The audio was working fine out of the box, but when I loaded the proprietary nvidia driver, it started gargling.
It seems to be connected to the graphic resolution: The driver update sets the resolution to 1600x1200.

Reducing the resolution makes it better for normal work, but watching a video still produces crackles in the sound.

2) Fullscreen flash videos stutter:
I saw this happening on older computers, but this is a DualCore 4200+ AMD64 with a GeForce 6 graphics card. Still investigating...

Soundcard related?

In order to get rid of the audio distortions and clicking during graphical load, I've deactivated the "Run with the highest possible priority (realtime priority)" checkbox in:
System Settings > Sound System
...and additionally increased the sound buffer to ~300 msec.
This took care of the audio problems, and it seems to also have a positive effect on the playback speed of flash videos (e.g. youtube, vimeo, ...)
