KDE3: Transparency & shadow

Post by ^rooker »

I couldn't help to try out some of KDE 3's eye candy, so I enabled "Translucency":
System Settings > Window Behavior > Translucency > "Use translucency/shadows"
I noticed 2 glitches:
1) Desaturation-effect after pressing Ctrl + Alt + Del (logout), blanks out the whole screen first (instead of just drawing the desat gradient)

2) The window shadow interferes with the "menu drop shadow" effect in:
System Settings > Appearance > Style > Effects > Menu drop shadow
(the menu shadow will have its own shadow. looks strange :) )
Jumping out of an airplane is not a basic instinct. Neither is breathing underwater. But put the two together and you're traveling through space!
