Ardour 5: “could not create session”

[PROBLEM]
Trying to create a new session in Ardour 5, I get the following error message after starting JACK:

First I suspected access right problems, creating the new session folder.
In fact it was that my settings were so that jackd could not start.
Once I fixed my JACK settings, it worked like a charm.
